Radio without journalistic expertise and flesh-and-blood presenters? It was recently announced that a radio station powered by artificial intelligence will also be launched in Germany this summer. As reported by German media, the new station follows the American model RadioGPT and offers moderation, music and current information supported or generated by AI. The big opportunity of such offerings: They can use machine learning techniques to analyze listeners' preferences and behavior patterns and provide personalized music recommendations. AI can also take into account the listener's mood, context, and preferences to provide an optimal listening experience. By continuously analyzing feedback, the AI can further improve its recommendations and music selection - benefiting users in the long end. But: it doesn't work entirely without humans - fortunately - after all. As Valerie Weber, managing director of programming at the operating company, reports, only what has been approved by humans is broadcast over the airwaves.

Experience can also be used for other formats

Technological development and the possibilities of AI can also be used for other formats, for example digital learning offerings such as audio learnings. These e-learnings for listening cover a wide range of topics and continuing education offerings. Advanced audio production techniques ensure that audio content is clear, understandable, and engaging. Production teams can use professional audio equipment, skilled narrators, and sound editing tools to ensure the best listening experience. Advances in speech recognition, sound synthesis, and AI algorithms are enabling AI-generated content, including music and speech, for example, to sound increasingly realistic.

AI technologies can also be used supportively in production to automate workflows, save time and increase efficiency. For example, it can help transcribe audio content, improve audio quality, or drive faster availability of learning opportunities in many different languages.

Be part of the future: Audio Awareness Library

The many functions of artificial intelligence that make work easier and support it are obvious. And yet, people and their experiences and assessments are needed to make even better use of the technology. For our audio-based awareness library on the topics of fairness and diversity, we are looking for testers for the beta phase who can use their feedback to make our products even better.
