All security experts Note the date: TAKE AWARE and SEXY SECURITY 2023 as the largest European conference for awareness and security communication will take place on May 11 and 12, 2023 in Mönchengladbach. This time the conference will be held in cooperation with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.

Under the motto "Strangers in the Night - Mindfulness, Awareness & Strangeness with the Stranger", the focus will be on issues relating to the mindfulness of employees with regard to security-related concerns in the company and in their personal environment. As organizers, Uwe Röniger, Managing Director of mybreev, and Dietmar Pokoyski, owner of the awareness agency known_sense, are looking forward to presentations and best practice examples from German and Swiss companies on the first day of the conference. So far, Prof. Matthias Mehrtens (Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences), TH Wildau with details on the project "ALARM Information Security" funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate, Fatma Akkus (thefuturepast), with a benchmark awareness WBTs, Ylaya Saenger, who produced an evaluation on stotytelling in awareness campaigns, Cornelia Puhze (SWITCH/Switzerland) on security communication and Jan Tomasch (EnBW) on the latest campaign of the energy service provider.

On May 12, SEXY SECURITY will then invite participants to numerous workshops. The participatory streams each last around two and a half hours and offer participants the opportunity to get to know various tools for increasing awareness and, above all, to be able to apply them directly in their own companies. The following workshops are currently planned: Escape Games or role plays in security awareness (by known_sense and SWITCH/Switzerland), Awareness and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (graduate psychologist Ankha Haucke, known_sense) and as a reminiscence to the artist Joseph Beuys, who had a special relationship to Mönchengladbach and the Museum Abteiberg, the organizers are planning a happening under the title "7,000 Umbrellas".

The podcast producer (Security Awarenss Insider) Dr. Katja Dörlemann from the Internet organization SWITCH in Bern, Switzerland, could be won as moderator.

Prof. Dr. Matthias Mehrtens, who teaches cyber security management at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, is pleased that the university is participating as an organizer: "The topic of awareness is becoming increasingly important in the context of our degree program. This means that our students in particular are becoming more and more interested in the 'human factor' and benefit enormously from cooperation with experts who do not focus their perspective exclusively on security processes and technical content. For us, this is a real opportunity to equip the security managers and CISOs of the future accordingly in terms of important communication.

As the last TAKE AWARE/SEXY SECURITY in April 2022 was fully booked at a very early stage, early registration via the website http://www.take-aware-events.com is recommended.

**Save the date**: TAKE AWARE/SEXY SECURITY double conference on May 11 and 12, 2023 in Mönchengladbach, Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in the Monforts Quartier at Schwalmstr. 301.
